Whilst packing for my latest adventure, a return to muck diving at Lembeh, Indonesia, my iPod queued up Earth, Wind and Fire's classic song September. My Southeast Asian journey started almost exactly 6 years ago (August 2004) in Singapore and continued through Peninsular Malaysia, with stops in Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, and Georgetown. I remember the amazement of seeing the ubiquitous Southeast Asian landscape slip by whilst listening to this song, as well as another funk classic, Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4.
I still find it hard to believe at times that I'm still kicking around the region.
